Proms In The Park 2025
The Proms in the Park is a truly wonderful community event. It takes place each year towards the end of summer. Friends of Atherton Park transform an area of the park into a smaller version of the Royal Albert Hall for the annual Proms In The Park event.
The organisers sell pitches for gazebos. People bring deck chairs and picnics. If the rain stays away it is a truly wonderful night. A perfect example of the community spirit of a small northern town.
Friends of Atherton Parks requested some funding help from the BBCT. This may be TMI but the funding was to cover the cost of the toilets. It’s something on an inside chuckle that the BBCT, via the beer festival, has more than a trivial level of knowledge when it comes to organising toilets.
The trustees of the BBCT feel that this type of event is a perfect example of where the trust can help. The event is a glowing example of everything that makes Atherton a great town.
